Fall Family Campout
Join us for our Fall Family Campout at Camp Reeder in Harrisonville, MO!
This is a laid back camp out at a great campground with bathroom/shower facilities that are readily accessible.
The campsite will open at 2pm.
Bring/cook your own dinner that evening.
The Pack will provide S'mores that evening.
Breakfast will be provided by the Pack and cooked by our Arrow of Lights (with parent supervision of course)! (Consists of breakfast burritos, coffee, and hot cocoa.)
Annual Dutch Oven Dessert Cook-Off
Additionally all families are welcome to participate in our Dutch Oven dessert cook-off. We have several extra dutch ovens for people to use if they don't own one.
Other activities will include:
flag raising/lowering ceremonies,
fishing,
night hike,
campfire program, and
brief faith/religious service on Sunday morning.
Family departure will be around 10 am on Sunday morning.
Tentative Schedule
Day 1 - Saturday
12:00 - 1:00 PM
Transport Pack Trailer to Camp Location about midday
1:00 - 2:00 PM
Leaders arrive and set up of tent & pack supplies
2:00 - 5:00 PM
Parents & Scouts arrive and set up tent & supplies (pack leaders can assist)
Activities during this time may include:
Games
Fishing - If site supports it
Crafts - If someone organizes it
4:00 or 4:30 PM
Once most of den is present, flag raising can occur (Usually Webelos or AoLs)
Scouts should have Class A uniforms to raise the flag
5:00 - 6:00 PM
Dinner time!
Families bring their own dinners or cook their own dinners on pack stoves
6:00 - 6:30 PM
Clean up
6:30 - 7:00 PM
Dens prep for skits for Campfire program
7:30 PM
Flag lowering
7:45 PM
Night Hike - Led by Pack Leader (Den Leader, Cub Master etc...)
Other leaders stay and prep the campfire / prep dutch oven cooking

Campfire program - Skits, songs, stories & jokes by Dens

Cracker Barrel - S'mores, Dutch Oven desserts

Day 2 - Sunday
7:00 AM - 7:30 AM
Wake up
Leaders start camp stoves and work with AoL/Webelos on breakfast prep
8:00 AM
Breakfast for Pack
9:00 AM
Clean up breakfast and start packing up camp supplies and tents
9:45 AM
Potential Interfaith Service (15 minutes or so)
10: 00 AM
Camp site clean up
Pick up all trash. Ensure trailer and supplies secured.
10:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Depart camp site
Supplies & Helpful Tips
Camp Reeder is a drive-up camp site, so extra supplies can remain in your car and accessed only if needed. However, we do encourage you bring only the necessities (plus medication and some layers for warmth) to keep set up and tear down easier on your family & scout.
